Commemorative Wine

In 1826 the Agricultural Society judged wine for the first time, however, quality wines were few and far between and the only medal awarded went to Gregory Blaxland for the best sample of Australian wine. This award was possibly the first time one had been given for Australian wine, and farsighted recognition of the role wine was to play in the agricultural development of Australia. Ever since, wine has also played a significant part in the Sydney Royal competitions run by the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW, ensuring recognition for the winners and a valuable opportunity to shine the spotlight on their wines.

To mark the bicentenary of the RAS, in conjunction with Wine Selectors, the RAS is proud to present the Bicentenary Collection featuring six carefully selected wines chosen for their significance to the RAS and the Australian wine industry.
