What we do

In its role as an exponent for excellence in agriculture, the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW organises events, and competitions, acts as a guardian for the state’s agricultural heritage, celebrates Australia’s achievements in agriculture and works to promote the viability of rural communities by ensuring that Australia remains a thriving and innovative agricultural producer.

Sydney Royal Easter Show

The Sydney Royal Easter Show is Australia's largest annual event, when Sydney celebrates the vital role that agriculture plays in the health and wealth of our nation and applauds the highest achievers in agricultural excellence. Non-stop competitions, a thrilling entertainment program featuring international stars and innovative ideas are the highlights of this 12-day event.

Sydney Royal Wine, Dairy & Fine Food Shows

The Sydney Royal Wine, Dairy & Fine Food competitions showcase the  best of Australia's food, wine and dairy industries display their finest produce in head-to-head competitions, where a win represents the highest industry accolade.

Sydney Showground

Located in the geographic heart of the city, Sydney Showground offers 22 venues covering 30 hectares and 120,000m2 of space, and plays host to some of the country’s largest and most complex events.

Its award-winning venue team works in partnership with its clients to deliver on its ‘big experiences’ promise. Hosting 1.7million visitors at 100-plus major events annually, the venue caters for a vast array of exhibitions, conferences, festivals, concerts and gala dinners. Meanwhile, its 22,000-seat boutique stadium is home to the GWS Giants and Sydney Thunder and is recognised nationally for providing outstanding fan experience.

RAS Foundation

The RAS Foundation (RASF) is the charitable arm of the RAS and was established in 2007 with a mission to help build strong, sustainable and resilient rural and regional communities through education and community development. Together with generous donations from supporters, the RASF has invested over $5.6 million into country NSW through grants and scholarships.

Australasian Animal Registry

The Australasian Animal Registry (AAR) is Australia's largest and most comprehensive not-for-profit animal registration and recovery service, with a database of over 1,800,000 animals from across Australia and New Zealand. 

RAS Membership

Membership of the RAS confers a number of valuable privileges, including entry to the Gold Members Reserve section at many sporting events at ANZ Stadium and accommodation discounts as well as unlimited entry to the Sydney Royal Easter Show.

Youth Programs

Youth holds the keys to the future, and the RAS is committed to developing their skills. Within the umbrella of its Youth Programs, the RAS celebrates the achievements of rural youth and provides financial assistance to children and young men and women in rural communities to encourage them to achieve their own ideas and ambitions and to enhance their educational opportunities.
