Rodeos were introduced at the Show in 1931 and campdraft soon after in 1934. The Wrangler Federation Rodeo Challenge and World Championship Campdraft are renowned attract leading competitors and quality stock from the Gill Bros Rodeo family (Rodeo) and Ellerston Pastoral Company (Campdraft).

Entries are open for the 2023 Wrangler Federation Rodeo Challenge & World Championship Campdraft to take place at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. RODEO On Rodeo’s biggest stage in Australia and live streamed across the globe, you need to be in it to win your share of over $80,000 in prize money and gear, thanks to Wrangler Western Australia! The 2023 Wrangler Federation Rodeo Challenge is an APRA Championship points rodeo, and cash won by APRA members will count towards their standings. Saddle Bronc | Bareback | Bull Ride Round 1 over 5 days: 6-10 April 2023 FINAL: 11 April 2023 Steer Wrestling 3 rounds over 6 nights (6-11 April) $13,000 prize money per event. $350 entry fees with a $250 add back each event. Events are capped at 30 Competitors only. The competition will take place from 12-17 April 2023. Of the nominations received, the RAS will invite to 15 Competitors (in total) to compete. An entry fee of $115 (inc GST) is payable at selection. Nomination is free. Interested competitors should visit the RAS website for more information on the competition format and to nominate.
